I really like the humble looks of small bumper Mk2 Golf GTIs, particularly with the original 14in steel wheels some of them came with. It’s also been a long while since I saw a jade green example.
This five-door car has a slightly scruffy but totally original appearance. Look closely and you’ll see its original ‘White Tree Garage Bristol’ dealer number plates and matching sticker at the tailgate.
Like many of these cars, F159 SHY has been put to good use over the years, having clocked over 217,000 miles at its most recent MOT test.
A glance at the MOT history shows this car has battled against rust attacking its underside for quite some years already. It’s quite easy to forget how old these cars are, this particular one is fast approaching its 32nd year since first being registered back in 1989.
Soaring values mean this car is likely to be kept in service for many years yet.
