When people hear Peugeot 205 their minds allude to the fantastic GTI, to the spritely XS/GT models or perhaps even to the elusive Rallye. What they almost certainly will not be thinking of is a 5 door diesel 205 in death blue. But I don’t care, this thing is fabulous.
H595 PTG is a facelift 205 GRD that was first registered in 1991, since then it’s covered an average of just over 3,000 miles a year with an odometer reading of 92,140 miles recorded at its last MOT.
It’s amusing how these cars still have a somewhat fragile reputation amongst some people despite many of the diesels having reliably covered intergalactic mileages. The fact these were a favourite amongst farmyards tells you all you need to know.
A rippled front wing aside, this little Pug is in remarkable condition. The body still has a really nice shine to it and its balloon tyres have even kept the original wheel trims looking pristine. The beige dashboard and tweed interior alone are well worthy of their own article.
It’s a great example of how even the most mundane of older cars can really stand out amongst today’s metal.
