I think this Mercedes Benz 230TE wagon has to be the nicest car I’ve featured on this site to date. In fact, I’m struggling to think of a better practical classic.
Designated the S123, these were the first estates that you could buy directly from Mercedes-Benz. 230TE models were equipped with a fuel-injected 2.3-litre, four-cylinder engine producing 133 horsepower. I’m unsure as to whether or not this model was fitted with the self-levelling suspension system that some S123s were.
When researching this model, by chance I stumbled across an unusually honest and well written previous auction listing showing this exact car had changed hands around 3 years ago for a bargain price.
A265 SDV is in truly outstanding condition for its age. The champagne metallic paint still gleams, as does all the brightwork that surrounds it. The beige cloth interior completely defies the 141,000 miles recorded at its last MOT.
I want one!
