Take an unsuspecting ‘80s saloon – pair it with some flash alloys and a subtle suspension drop and you’ve instantly got something that’ll turn heads. This Honda Accord is a great example of a useable classic that sits outside of the norm.
I’m not quite sure how much the Ronal Turbo wheels really suit the car itself, but the juxtaposition is definitely eyecatching.
Judging by its MOT history, it looks like this ‘Hondamatic’ automatic example has covered just over 35,000 miles, and when you consider most of these had dissolved their way into scrapyards a decade ago that seems very much believable.
The original mud flaps, AA window sticker and gleaming chrome work hark back to a time when GKL 637Y was someone else’s pride and joy. The bodywork also seems to wear typical bumps and scrapes of an elderly owner’s final driving years.
It’s always a pleasure to see another car of this age being put to regular use.
